On Halloween Day 2012 , go to your state, city or town capitol , whichever is the highest level of government you have access to - Washington D.C. , if at all possible - and from 12 noon on demonstrate in front of whatever official building / agency is applicable ( PEACEFULLY ! - we want to convince people that the wolves' advocates are intelligent , responsible people with a valid point to make , not give them an excuse to ignore us) on behalf of ending or at the least more closely regulating the wolf culling presently permitted. Action in the states in which wolf hunts are planned or ongoing is especially important .
Anyone willing to be a Pack Leader for a given area , please post here so people can find you - i will list them in a sidebar for reference as they volunteer to coordinate efforts in their state / town / etc. Pack Leaders will do such things as find out whether permits are needed for gatherings over a certain number , update participants on specific times and locations , prepare press releases as to what is going on and why , act as spokespeople with the media during the demonstration , and so on ( including mundane stuff like knowing where public restrooms and coffee shops in their area can be found ) .
From what I have seen , most capitols have a park of some sort in the immediate area , which are good rallying points . If you can come in costume as a wolf or other wild animal , it would probably be a plus - posters of wolves , both happy and hunted , mounted as placards are also good . If you have an animal-design sweat or tee shirt , that could serve as well . The object is to make more of a visual than a vocal point , with pre-prepared statements doing most of the actual "talking" - though educating ( not arguing with ) the public is also useful .
Late October is a critical time politically at many levels , and a perfect time to try to sway influential officials to our cause .
